This opportunity helpes those aged 18-25 to develop their interest in film criticism.
This programme targets film enthusiasts and is aimed to take participants through educational sessions this November. The programme culminates in jury sessions where participants view and judge the festival's International Shorts and select the winner. They then write a review of a film from this years festival for our
New Wave Journal.

Hannah Strong, Digital Editor of Little White Lies magazine, an independent illustrated film magazine based in London. She has written for publications including Vulture, Gawker, GQ and The Guardian, and her first book, a monograph on Sofia Coppola, was released in May 2022 by Abrams New York.

In 2022 New Wave Jury was composed of 10 people: Lydia, Francisco, Jake, Eliza, Libby, Evie, Finn, Campbell, Andrew,
and Andres.
Throughout the first two weeks of November, our jury took part in different workshops that allowed them to gain skills in order to choose a New Wave Jury Winner, from the international short films category. They took part in 4 sessions: a writing workshop with Amanda White, and 3 guest speaker sessions with Hannah Strong (Digital Editor at Little White Lies), Mark Cosgrove (British film programmer working at Watershed), and the Bulgarian filmmakers duo Mina and Vesela.
The New Wave Jury Winner was Murder Tongue by Ali Sohail Jaura and the New Wave Jury Runner-Up was
Burros by Jefferson Stein.
